Tasting - El Cortijillo Tempranillo

Name: El Cortijillo Tempranillo 2017
Variety: Tempranillo
Region: La Mancha
Country: Spain
Year: 2017
Price: $9

Winery Review: Vivid ruby. Pungent red berry and peppery spice scents show good focus and lift. Gently sweet and incisive on the palate, offering jammy raspberry and cherry flavors that tighten up slowly on the back half. Finishes taut and spicy, with supple tannins sneaking in late.

My Review: This wine has a very pungent smell. It smells like a darker fruit, possibly raspberry. It is very dry and tannic with a medium body. Not a wine that I typically enjoy.

I tasted this wine without food.
